Hello, My name is Stephen Silberkraus, and I am running for University Regent here in District 3. Thank you for clicking on the Learn More button on Facebook. Please take a look around my website to learn more about my vision for our state's education system, and to see several of my accomplishments as a former State Legislator.  I am proud to have a solid track record of fighting for our kids and their education. That is why I have earned endorsements from many leaders in our community.

As an Assemblyman, I was proud to fight for and pass legislation to create the new UNLV Medical School, something that our current COVID-19 crisis shows us was desperately needed. As a Regent, I will fight to create and expand more needed programs like the UNLV medical school. I will fight to develop a stronger online system that allows for distance education, not just during a time of crisis, but ensures access to programs for all Nevadas. 

 

We need to ensure that our K-12 and higher education systems give our kids the tools they will need to build a bright future for themselves and our state.

 

Over the years I have volunteered and served in leadership roles with many great groups around the valley, such as the Boy Scouts, Opera Las Vegas, the Sons of the American Legion, Rotary, a small family charity, and many more organizations. This involvement in our community has shown me how important our states educational institutions are, and how we can improve them.
